Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

  • Phone number— for one-time-password (OTP) login via Firebase Authentication. We never store your password because we don't use one.
  • Birth details— date, time, and place of birth that you voluntarily enter to compute your chart. This data stays in your browser's localStorage and on our servers only as long as needed to generate your reading.
  • Questions you ask — the text of any question you submit to our AI is sent to Anthropic (our AI provider, see Section 4).
  • Payment claim metadata — when you pay via UPI and submit the UTR last 4 digits, we record the order ID, plan, amount, last 4 UTR digits, and your phone number for reconciliation.
  • Anonymous analytics — page views and interaction events via PostHog (when enabled). We do not track personally identifiable behaviour.

2. What we don't collect

  • We do not collect your government ID or address.
  • We do not store credit card numbers (UPI is direct bank-to-bank).
  • We do not sell or share your data with marketers or advertisers.
  • We do not use third-party tracking cookies for advertising.

3. How we use your data

  • To compute your astrological chart and generate readings.
  • To verify your identity at sign-in via OTP.
  • To process and reconcile your payments.
  • To improve the product (anonymous, aggregated).

4. Third parties we use

  • Firebase(Google) — phone authentication and Firestore database. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
  • Anthropic— AI inference for natal readings and Q&A. Anthropic does not train its public models on API data per its policy.
  • Vercel — application hosting and CDN.
  • OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) — geocoding city → coordinates.
  • PostHog — anonymous usage analytics.

5. Data retention

Your chart and reading are cached for up to 12 months to make reloads instant; they are derived from your birth details and contain no additional personal identifiers. Payment claim records are retained for 7 years for tax-compliance purposes (as required by Indian law). You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us — see Contact.

6. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), you have the right to: access the data we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, and request deletion. Contact us to exercise these rights — we respond within 30 days.

7. Children

Kundliwise is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated on this page; the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
